Spatulas, Surgical

Definition : Spatulas designed to manipulate and/or dissect tissues during surgical procedures. These devices typically consist of a metallic (e.g., stainless steel) handheld instrument with a very thin straight or curved, flat, blunt distal tip. Some surgical spatulas have working tips on both ends. Dedicated surgical spatulas are used in ophthalmic, brain (neurosurgical), middle ear, and other delicate or microsurgical procedures.
