Knives, Surgical, Bone
Definition : Surgical knives designed for cutting bones and/or other hard tissue structures during surgical procedures. These devices consist of manual, sturdy, handheld instruments of a variety of geometric shapes and sizes usually with a straight or curved handle and a wide cutting blade. Bone surgery knives are mainly used in orthopedic procedures. Dedicated bone knives intended for interosseous or periostium procedures are available; knives intended to cut particular bone structures (e.g., sternum) and acetabular joint procedures are also available.
