Training Manikins, Dental
Definition : Training manikins designed for dental procedure training. Dental manikins usually consist of a life-size model of the human head with a full set of teeth and a tongue. Some of these manikins are made with plastic to look and feel like human flesh, others are made of metal structures. Most of these manikins include radio-opaque metal teeth and flexible jaws with life-like articulation. Dental students can use these manikins to practice dental procedures using the same tools and techniques they would use on a patient. Most of these manikins can be clamped to dental chairs and many can be used to take x-rays so that dental students can learn and practice proper x-ray procedures before they x-ray an actual patient. These manikins are often available in different sizes such as pediatric and adult.
