Topical Solutions/Creams, Ultraviolet Protection
Definition : Non-metabolic solutions or creams applied to the skin to create a barrier from the sun's ultraviolet rays. Direct and prolonged absorption of ultraviolet rays may lead to burnt skin and increased odds of developing certain skin cancers. Use of these products is intended to help prevent skin damage and help reduce the risk of developing certain skin cancers. These solutions or creams remain effective at blocking the sun's rays for a limited amount of time (usually a couple of hours). These solutions and creams are often made from plant materials and minerals; they do not contain drugs and do not act metabolically.
