Dressings, Nonimpregnated, Synthetic
Definition : Plain (nonimpregnated) dressings made of synthetic (e.g., polymers) or semisynthetic materials. These dressings may be adhesive or nonadhesive, and made of one or more synthetic polymers, including polyethylene and polyurethane. Synthetic dressings are intended to maintain a moist environment, absorb wound exudates and/or prevent the dressings from contact with bacteria; they are used in the management of dry or exudative wounds.
