IVD Test Reagent/Kits, Molecular Assay, Gene Anomaly, Mutation, HJV

Definition : Molecular assay reagents intended to identify mutations in the hemojuvelin (HJV) gene, located at chromosome 1q21, which encodes instructions for producing a hemojuvelin protein that helps to regulate iron metabolism. Mutations at this locus have been identified in most adult patients with early-onset juvenile hemochromatosis.
