Catheterization Kits, Nasal Sinus
Definition : Prepackaged collections (either custom or standard) of devices and supplies needed to perform minimally invasive nasal surgical procedures. These kits typically consist of a sinus dilation catheter, an illumination system, guide wires, auxiliary irrigation and balloon catheters, and extension tubes; the kit may also include devices that permit its integration with stereotactic navigation systems. Nasal sinus surgical kits are intended mainly to enlarge the patient's sinus openings, clearing the passageways and restoring normal sinus ventilation and drainage; they are also used in other minimally invasive functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) procedures.
