Penile Tissue Expanders

Definition : Devices designed for the expansion of penis tissue. These expanders use one of several techniques, including clamping, hanging, traction, or increasing the local blood pressure. These expanders are intended for external placement on the penis, helping to correct penis curvature (i.e., straightening the penis after surgery) and/or possibly resulting in penis enlargement. Penis tissue expanders are applied externally; they do not include permanent implantable prostheses to treat erectile dysfunction, which are also available.
