Exercisers, Balance

Definition : Exercisers designed for the physical exertion of body muscles by voluntary contraction and relaxation of the muscles, which are intended primarily to improve the user's ability to maintain proper posture and stability. These exercisers often include an unstable surface made of rubber, wood, or plastic intended to help improve stability, balance, and coordination; additionally, as do all exercisers, they may improve the muscle strength, endurance, flexibility, and balance in specific parts of the body (e.g., upper and/or lower body). Dedicated balance exercisers are available in the forms of balls, discs, boards, domes, and rollers.
