Definition : Video cameras designed for use in the oral cavity (i.e., intraoral). These cameras usually include appropriate semiconductor sensors [e.g., charge-coupled devices (CCD)]; the camera may be attached to a long handle for manual operation or fixed to oral surgery and/or dental handpieces or multi holders. Intraoral video cameras are intended for picture documentation and/or to facilitate the performance of diagnostic, surgical, and/or dental procedures.
