Definition : Serology reagents intended to detect immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies to K39 antigens of Leishmania donovani parasites, a species of the genus Leishmania, a genus of protozoa of the suborder Trypanosomatina. These parasites cause black fever (also known as kala-azar), an endemic visceral Leishmania disease usually transmitted by sand flies.
