Definition : Tubing clamps designed to hold rigid or flexible tubing during clinical laboratory procedures. These clamps are available in a variety of materials, shapes, and sizes according to the tubing diameter and thickness and/or the procedure to be performed; some clamps can be adjusted (e.g., threaded) to regulate flow through flexible tubes. Dedicated laboratory tubing clamps are available that resist heat (e.g., up to more than 220 degrees Celsius/430 degrees Fahrenheit) and/or chemicals (e.g., salts, solvents, acids).
