Training Kits, Decontamination

Definition : Training kits designed to simulate real decontamination kits. These kits typically consist of a sealed package that includes a set of applicators (e.g., a pad, mitts), similar to those used in real decontamination kits, and an inert substance (e.g., liquid, powder) that is similar in physical characteristics to a decontaminant but without decontamination capabilities. These kits are used to save costs and risks during training of civil rescuers and/or military personnel. Decontamination training kits are appropriately colored and labeled to differentiate them from actual decontamination kits.
