Definition : Radiotherapy simulation systems that perform radiographic and/or fluoroscopic imaging to determine, document, and externally mark the area to be treated. These systems combine technologies from both therapeutic and diagnostic radiology; they consist of a radiographic/fluoroscopic simulator that includes an x-ray system and a mechanical system (collimator, gantry, table, controls) that mimics the movement of a linear accelerator and/or a cobalt unit.
