Digitizers

Definition : Devices designed to convert information (e.g., data, images) to digital format. These devices may take the information from a document, film, or other external sources that provide information in analog format. The most characteristic component of a digitizer is an analog-to-digital converter. Digitizers are mostly used in the clinical field to digitize radiographic films, medical reports, and/or analog signals from imaging systems (e.g., ultrasound and video systems).
