Gowns, Splash, Protection
Definition : Gowns designed for protection against fine particulates and chemical splashes. These gowns are typically made of a breathable multilayer plastic material (e.g., polyethylene); they may consist either of an open-back garment for frontal protection or jacketlike gowns with full protection to the upper body. Most of these gowns include a snap front and knit wrists. Splash-protection gowns are appropriate for clinical laboratories and general hospital use; they are not intended for handling hazardous materials or for decontamination of patients and/or objects.
