Needles, Lesion Localization
Definition : Needles designed for localization of lesions, especially tumors. These devices typically consist of a hollow needle with marks to facilitate accurate depth placement. Some needles include a strong, flexible localization wire that can be retracted and repositioned; other devices consist of a puncture needle and an anchor at the tip. Lesion-localization needles are mostly used for tumor localization in moving organs (e.g., lung) and/or in the thoracic breast tissue.
