IVD Test Reagent/Kits, Immunoassay, Tumor Marker, Enzyme, Prostatic Acid Phosphatase

Definition : Immunoassay reagents intended to perform qualitative and/or quantitative analyses on a body fluid sample (e.g., serum) to determine the prostatic acid phosphatase (PAP) enzyme, an enzyme secreted by neoplastic tumor cells (i.e., a tumor marker) of the prostate. Use of PAP as a tumor marker is being replaced by the determination of prostatic-specific antigens (PSA). But, PAP is still used because its level is associated with metastasis of prostate carcinomas.

Entry Terms : "Prostate Acid Phosphatase (PSA) Determination Reagents" , "PAP (Prostatic Acid Phosphatase) Determination Reagents" , "Reagents, Immunoassay, Tumor Marker, Enzyme, Prostatic Acid Phosphatase"
