Definition : Hematology reagents used for determination of acquired plasma circulating antibodies specific to the coagulation factor VIII. These antibodies directly inhibit coagulation factor activity. Coagulation factor VIII antibodies are found in some patients severely affected with hemophilia type A; they are also associated with inflammatory diseases (e.g., rheumatoid arthritis), elderly persons, and drug reactions.
