Definition : Hematology reagents intended to perform qualitative and/or quantitative analyses on a body fluid sample (typically plasma) to determine proaccelerin (coagulation factor V), a plasma protein that is involved in the activation of prothrombin in the common pathway of coagulation. Hereditary deficiency of factor V is associated with a rare hemorrhagic tendency known as Owren's disease.
