Reagents, Molecular Assay, Immunology, Tissue Typing, Human Leukocyte Antigen, Class I, B Loci
Definition : Molecular assay reagents used in immunological tests to determine one or more of the slightly different alleles of cell-surface proteins coded in the locus B of the class I genes of the major histocompatibility complex. These tests are mostly used to match donor and recipient tissues before transplants (e.g., kidney, bone marrow). Several alleles (e.g., B27) are associated with immune diseases.
