Reagents, Molecular Assay, Chromosome Anomaly, Translocation, t(4;14)

Definition : Molecular assay reagents intended for use in identifying exchanges (i.e., translocations) between chromosomes 4 and 14. This translocation typically leads to an apparent deregulation of FGFR3 and WHSC1/MMSET genes. This translocation is typically found in patients with congenital fibrosarcoma, plasma cell leukemia, or multiple myeloma. Its detection can be used as a tumor marker.
