Definition : Serology reagents intended to detect and/or identify antigens or serum antibody titers to Influenza virus, a single-stranded RNA virus of the family Orthomyxoviridae. Human influenza viruses are usually divided into three serogenic types: A, B, and C. Some subtypes of this virus are the etiologic agents of influenza, a disease characterized by sudden onset of high fever, myalgia, headache, severe malaise, nonproductive cough, sore throat, and rhinitis.
