Morcellators, Endoscopic

Definition : Morcellators consisting of a system that combines an electrically powered unit, a handpiece, an endoscope, and appropriate blades, brushes, and extractors. These devices perform the morcellation through the endoscope using minimally invasive surgery (e.g., laparoscopic) procedures, usually in less time than conventional manual procedures. Morcellators are mostly used for dissection of the large tissue masses typically found in gynecological procedures, such as in the extraction of the uterus or benign tumors (myomas).
