Definition : Microbiology reagents used in manual tests to assess the susceptibility of mycobacteria to antibacterial agents (e.g., antibiotics). Mycobacteria susceptibility tests are based on the determination of the inhibition of bacteria growth, using either direct methods (i.e., using the patient's sample) or indirect methods (i.e., using organisms isolated from the clinical specimen).
