Reagents, Immunoassay, Autoimmune, Neurologic, Antiganglioside Antibody
Definition : Immunoassay reagents intended to perform qualitative and/or quantitative analyses of a sample of body fluids (e.g., serum) to determine antibodies to one or more of a group of glycosphingolipids (gangliosides) that occur predominantly in the tissues of the central nervous system (e.g., GM-1, GM-2, GQ1b, GD1b gangliosides). Antiganglioside antibodies are associated with neuropathies; they may be a marker for the diagnosis of cerebral involvement in connective-tissue autoimmune diseases.
