Definition : Transducer output simulators designed to mimic the electrical signals at the output of a cardiac output transducer, typically simulating a particular catheter system (e.g., Edwards and Baxter), at several possible combinations of blood flow rates (e.g., 3, 5, 7 liter/minute), blood temperatures (e.g., 36 degrees, 37 degrees, and 38 degrees C), and injection temperatures (e.g., 2 degrees and 20 degrees C). These simulators are used to test cardiac output monitors excluding the monitor transducer.
