Reagents, Clinical Chemistry, Enzyme, Glucose Phosphate Isomerase
Definition : Clinical chemistry reagents intended to perform qualitative and/or quantitative chemical analyses of body fluids (typically serum) to determine the level of the enzyme glucose phosphate isomerase (also known as phosphohexose isomerase). A deficiency of the enzyme glucose phosphate isomerase is the cause of hemolytic anemia, a genetically transmitted metabolic disease.
