Definition : Clinical chemistry reagents intended to perform qualitative and/or quantitative chemical analyses of body fluids (typically serum) to determine the level of the enzyme aldolase (ALD). Aldolase in serum increases in a variety of diseases, but the assays are mostly performed to determine primary diseases of skeletal muscle (e.g., Duchenne muscular dystrophy).
