Definition : Exhaled-air pulmonary resuscitators that include a mask to deliver the gases to the patient airways. These resuscitators typically include a nonrebreathing valve or filter in an adapter that has an outlet appropriate to fit any standard mask (22 mm in diameter) or attach to an endotracheal or tracheostomy tube (15 mm in diameter). Many masks include supplemental oxygen inlets. Both include reusable mask and a disposable valve.
