Scales, Patient, Platform
Definition : Patient scales that include a horizontal platform that is placed on the floor and a vertical column with measuring and/or display capabilities. These scales may include measuring rods to determine patient height, handrails to provide security for weak or unsteady ambulatory patients, and casters for easy movement. Some platform scales include ramps or are embedded into the floor to permit weighing of patients while they are standing or sitting on a chair or in a wheelchair.
