Beds, Electric, Alternating-Pressure

Definition : Electric beds designed to provide alternating pressure to the patient's body. These beds typically include a set of hollow sacks that are cyclically inflated and deflated by an air compressor in such a way that the inflated sacks support the patient and the deflated ones give pressure relief to prevent maceration of the patient's skin. Alternating pressure electric beds are mainly used for treating of patients with burns or decubitus ulcers.
