Definition : Tunable solid-state lasers with a composition of chromium-doped BeAlO (a hard mineral known as alexandrite) as the active medium. Their emission wavelength ranges from 380 nm between 700 and 830 nm. These lasers are operated in continuous-wave, pulsed, and Q-switched modes.
