Definition : Molecular assay reagents intended to identify genetic variants associated with inherited intrahepatic cholestasis, a progressive liver disease that causes defects in bile secretion and may lead to liver failure. Genetic variants at multiple loci have been associated with inherited intrahepatic cholestasis. These reagents are intended to detect various types of genetic changes (e.g., deletions, duplications, insertions, substitutions) in multiple inherited intrahepatic cholestasis-associated loci simultaneously.
