Stimulators, Photic, Visual, Diffraction Grating

Definition : Visual photic stimulators designed to apply stimuli to the eyes in the form of rotating discs with black and white stripes of different width and spacing. These stimulators usually include a set of discs that are chosen according to the extent of the visual problem (usually amblyopia). Alternating applications of the stimuli to the normal eye and to the abnormal eye may result in an improvement of the accommodation function. Grating visual photic stimulators (also known as CAM visual stimulators) are mainly used in the treatment of monocular strabismus, especially in children. Devices using lasers as light sources are also available.

Entry Terms : "Cambridge (CAM) Visual Function Stimulators" , "Campbell Visual Stimulators" , "Diffraction Grating Laser Stimulators" , "Diffraction Grating Light Stimulators" , "Diffraction Grating Photic Stimulators" , "Strabismus Suppression Training Equipment"
