Reagents, Serology, Bacteria/Fungi, Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis, Antibody
Definition : Serology reagents used to detect antibodies to bacteria and/or fungi that may cause a respiratory hypersensitivity reaction when repeatedly inspired (i.e., hypersensitivity pneumonitis, also known as allergic alveolitis). These tests can usually detect antibodies to any of several fungi (e.g., Aspergillus fumigatus, Aureobasidium pullulans) or bacteria (e.g., Micropolyspora faeni, Thermoactinomyces vulgaris).
