Modular Medical Facilities, Mobile
Definition : Modular medical facilities mounted in self-propelled vehicles or trailers, facilitating movement from site to site, and including components specially built to withstand the demands of a mobile environment. Most mobile medical facilities include their own electric generator, so they do not need any external connection. These facilities are used for screening purposes (e.g., mammography), for emergency conditions (e.g., natural disasters), to bring services to distant areas (e.g., rural), for sharing services among several hospitals, or in any other situation in which facilities are not intended to stay in the same place for a long time.
