Definition : Socks or stockings designed to be worn on the toes of the feet of patients who are using open-toe casts, splints, braces, or walking boots, or who have a bandaged foot with exposed toes. Cast toe socks are worn in order to keep the toes clean, warm, and protected. Cast toe socks are usually made of synthetic, washable fibers and can be worn on either foot. They are sized to fit either an adult's or child's foot and they can be secured with an adjustable strap.
