These shoes typically include heels, linings, soles, and/or reinforcements with particular characteristics according to the functional and/or anatomic abnormalities of the patient. Orthopedic shoes are intended for temporary or permanent use to prevent and/or correct musculoskeletal deformities of the feet and/or to improve their function; dedicated shoes for temporary use during therapeutic and/or rehabilitation procedures (e.g., cast use) are also available.
