Sinks

Definition : Installations designed for washing, collecting of fluids, and drainage. These devices typically consist of a stationary basin with water supply, faucets, and connection to drainage; they may include garbage disposal units. Dedicated sinks are used in healthcare facilities in examination rooms, clinical and dental offices, clinical laboratories, dissection and autopsy rooms, and for surgical scrub; standard sinks are also used for common tasks such as food preparation, cleaning of kitchen and food service utensils, and housekeeping. Portable sinks for use in the field, during emergencies, and/or by disabled persons are also available.
