Compactors

Definition : Equipment designed to reduce the volume of solid waste material by mechanical compression. This equipment usually consists of a container with mechanisms that compress the waste material (e.g., metals, plastic), reducing the volume several times; compactors are available in a variety of sizes and configurations, from big stand-alone units intended for very large quantities of waste to small, portable units. Waste compactors are used in healthcare facilities to facilitate the manipulation and transportation of waste material to the final disposal locations.
