Densitometers, Laboratory, Liquid, Urine
Definition : Dedicated laboratory liquid densitometers used for determining the specific gravity of urine samples. Most of these instruments consist of a hydrometer--a long, slender glass float with a small metallic weight at the lower end--and a fluted glass or plastic cylinder for the urine sample. The hydrometer, graduated in specific gravity units, is placed in cylinder containing the sample; the depth to which the float sinks indicates the urine's specific gravity.
