Orthoses, Lower Limb, Foot, Accommodative, Bunion
Definition : Accommodative foot orthoses designed to provide comfort and protection to users with a bunion (i.e., valgus displacement of the great toe). These orthoses typically consist of a prefabricated device made of soft and/or flexible materials (e.g., fabrics, plastics, foam) or a combination of these. These are typically inserted inside the shoe and may include a hole appropriate for bunion accommodation. Bunion soft supports are intended to alleviate pain by preventing the bunion from making direct contact with the shoe and/or preventing rubbing or pressure between the shoe and the bunion. Cup-like devices that cover the bunion without touching it are also available.
