Definition : Bone surgical punches designed to excise a segment of cranial bone tissue (frequently in the form of a thick disc), facilitating the insertion of probes and/or catheters during surgical procedures. These punches are typically handheld, manual, forceps-like instruments with a small indentation in one blade and a matching hole facing the indentation in the other working blade that are operated by squeezing the handles.
