Dryers, Medical-Air, Desiccating

Definition : Medical-air dryers designed to remove moisture from the air using dynamic desiccant adsorption techniques. These dryers typically include a set of desiccants (e.g., a bed of desiccant cores) in which the adsorption process is performed; frequently, the compressed air to be dried passes through a rotor while the desiccant removes water vapor directly from the air and holds it while the wheel rotates. Desiccating medical-air dryers may be equipped with filters for removing liquid, oil, aerosols, and mists with purifiers for removing solid and liquid particles and gaseous impurities such as carbon monoxide; these devices are frequently included as an integral part of medical-air supply systems.
