Definition : Blades designed for use as the cutting component of a manually operated rotatory electric or pneumatic saw to cut materials, objects, or anatomic structures. These blades typically consist of a flat piece of metal (e.g., stainless steel) with a circular section and a sharp edge; they may be intended either for single or multiple use. Dedicated blades are available for electric/pneumatic saws used to cut tissues and/or bones during surgical procedures and also to cut plaster cast placed on a patient's body.
