Definition : Point-of-care whole blood analyzers dedicated to measuring the concentration of glycated hemoglobin (GHB), also known as glycohemoglobin, in a sample of capillary blood. These analyzers may use several measuring techniques, including photometry and immunoassay. The amount of GHB in blood represents the integrated values for glucose in the previous three month period. GHB point-of-care analyzers are mostly used in physician's offices for assessing glucose control.
